I can hardly believe it, but this is the last episode of Season 1 of the Southern Fried Girlfriends podcast! It has been so much fun creating this show for you and our girlfriends. We’ve tackled some really fun topics, super difficult topics, and a myriad of topics in between. Whether we were talking about divorce or depression, talking to my younger self, or life after loss, we had some incredible guests join us to share their wisdom and stories. We covered topics that are practical like menu planning and meal prep, sorting through the confusion of fat and food allergies, and do you need a detox? and so much more. If you missed any of the 28 episodes (!), catch up via the links here on SouthernFriedNutrition.com or subscribe via iTunes or your favorite podcast listening app.
As we finish well, we are sharing with you our thoughts on why it’s important to finish well. What goals have you set for yourself that you have yet to accomplish in 2018? You still have two months! Listen to this episode to be encouraged to finish this year strong and to hear some tips that help us finish well.
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
Galatians 6:9“The harder you try to be perfect, the less likely you’ll accomplish your goals.” Jon Acuff
“Imperfectly done is better than not done, in most cases.” Sherry
For me, finishing well is also about setting goals for the next season or year of my life. In this episode, we talk about the magic of writing down our goals and the different methods we use. I also shared a big failure in my life and how I recovered – and the best advice I’ve ever gotten on the subject.
To get to goal setting, we need to know ourselves. Self-assessment is a huge part of that. Myers-Briggs Test, Enneagram, DISC, and the 5 Love Languages are all some of tools that can help you – and we share how we have used these tests. Dee also shared her take on The Four Tendencies by Gretchen Rubin and Sherry reviews the Wellness Wheel. In the show, we also talk about the value of having someone else speak into our lives to help set attainable and realistic goals. And we share some of our favorite goals!
