One of my favorite professional relationships is with the National Peanut Board, who represents America’s 7,500 peanut farming families across the U.S. This post is part of a project that I’ve been compensated to develop for them. That said, if you follow me on any social channel, or if you’ve been to my kitchen, you know that peanuts and peanut butter are seriously, really, for real a favorite food in our house.
I’m so so excited to share with you some super fun cooking videos that I recorded for them in my home kitchen. The videos focus on incorporating peanuts and peanut butter into meals in easy, delicious and nutritious ways. I love these recipes and had so much fun developing them. They are also foods that my family loves to eat. I hope you will check them out and let me know what you think!
Breakfast is better when it features nutrient-packed waffles (or pancakes if you don’t have a waffle maker)! Check out this super simple recipe for Peanut Butter Veggie Waffles.
Have you heard that research supports early introduction of peanut foods as a way to help reduce the risk of peanut allergy? The American Academy of Pediatrics recently released a great article that answers many of parents’ questions about the nuts and bolts of the recommendations, particularly for those whose kiddos might be at higher risk. I’ve developed some yummy and super simple recipes to make it easy when you’re ready to introduce peanut foods for your little one.
Finally, in my house, we do stir-fry with peanut sauce at least every other week. In this video, I’ll walk you through creating this delicious dish for your family. Use as a guide and customize it to your family’s preferences.
AND…the National Peanut Board is hosting a #PeanutPower Family Meals Twitter Chat with me (as my alter-ego on Twitter >> PeanutRD) and Katie Morford, who is a fantastic dietitian and creative cook for her own family (and author of Mom’s Kitchen Handbook). There’ll be opportunities to share ideas for healthy family meals during this uber busy time of the year…or perhaps back to school is smooth as can be in your house! Oh, and there’ll be prizes too! So if you’re a peanut/peanut butter lover like me, be sure to tune in tonight and sound off.
“See” you there!
